Welcome to Random Fiction With Drew #1, the first of what I hope will be a series of short pieces of fiction that I want to share with you, the readers of this blog. Now bear in mind that these will be excerpts, beginnings, and half finished ideas – sort of like my notebook, but here for you to see. They are concepts I have kicking around, but don’t necessarily have time to focus on. If you like something, let me know and maybe I will flesh it out into a proper story to post here. If something strikes a chord with you, maybe it is worth taking a second look. So, without further ado, here is the first short piece.
So that’s when I woke up in hell. I know what you are thinking, hell is nothing but a bunch of superstitious nonsense, something dreamed up to frighten people into doing the right thing. Or maybe you are thinking that hell is a misinterpretation of the bible, that it’s nothing more than a valley in the desert just south of Jerusalem where they burned garbage. and you want to know something, up until a couple of minutes ago I would have totally agreed with you. But when you are surrounded by a sulphuric burning smell, and there are demons, literal demons running around with pitchforks and whips, sometimes you just have to accept the reality of your surroundings so you can figure out what to do next.
That’s it so far. Im not sure who this guy is, why he’s in hell, or hat he will do about it. I just liked the idea of someone waking up in a place they logically didn’t think existed, and having to explain the reality of that situation.
